What your child can expect
New students start with a complimentary 30 minute private lesson to introduce them to the wonderful world of martial arts! In this private lesson, kids have a ton of fun learning the basics that will allow them to have a great experience in our group Beginner classes. Kids love the music and visuals we add to our classes! We do karate under the sea, in outer space, on the beaches of Hawaii and more! Kids love learning new facts as we travel around the world virtually!
Shudokan Karate
Kids thrive in our classes
The Japanese term, “Shudokan” means “The House for the Study of the Way” and reflects the strong emphasis on character development and the mental aspects of karate, in addition to the physical techniques. Every week, we highlight and discuss an important life skill in class. Student learn how to demonstrate the life skill at home and at school. Karate is a great way for kids to stay active, build character, and gain valuable life skills in a fun and engaging environment.

So glad we found these online karate classes for our daughters. They both love how Sensei Adrian teaches and how they feel included. Both of them have requested to become black belts! The classes are convenient, in that you just simply login, and then you are live in the dojo with all the other participants. They are also learning how to count in Japanese! I’ll admit I was skeptical that Karate could be taught effectively over Zoom, but Sensei Adrian has proved me wrong in all the best ways! My 7-year-old is getting a good physical workout, but almost as important- a good mental and emotional workout, too. Their monthly life skills focus is something my kiddo’s been chatting about in and out of class. He loves counting in and learning Japanese. I see him getting more confident with karate each class, and I’ve been proud to see his focus and determination grow each week. All that in a month! I’m looking forward to watching him grow.
